The role of the Manager, Outcomes oversees a team of remote career coaches across the United States. This position is charged with diagnosing and solving challenges within their coaching team, managing data and setting the overall vision and goals of the career coaching team. This role encompasses daily operational management of job-seeker programs, performance management, development of career coaches, as well as coaching job seekers in the search. Outcomes Manager creates a firm relationship among GA, students, alumni, and the industry.

This is a hands-on player/coach position, the Outcomes Manager will directly manage a team composed of career coaches while also directly coaching and mentoring students at different stages of their job search process. This role requires a high degree of organization, data-driven coaching methods, accountability, cross-team communication, empathy, and flexibility. This is a full-time remote position based in the US.

The Outcomes Team works towards ensuring graduates are prepared and confident in their job search and actively supports graduates and monitors their progress until all actively seeking students have achieved an outcome.  A balance of ensuring that graduates are empowered to find jobs in a timely manner, as well as find roles that they are passionate about, is critical for this role. 


  • Manages and develops Career Coaches towards success and reaching their goals and accountability metrics such as  placement rate and coaching quality NPS.
  • Responsible for Coaching: onboarding, training, performance management, hiring, and staffing.
  • Ownership of market-wide outcomes data and outcomes forecasting. 
  • Leadership of Outcomes function including strategy around Outcomes programming, integration with instructional training, and hitting world-class career outcomes rates of 90% in 180 days from course completion.  
  • Partner with global stakeholders to align innovative local strategy with systems and vision for global outcomes and career coaching.
  • Work with other department managers such as Student Success, Instructor Management, Director, and global counterparts on cross-department initiatives and delivery methods.
  • Teach outcomes curriculum sessions and coach student job seekers at different stages of their job search.
  • Ensure students and seekers have a positive experience and triage as necessary.  


  • At least four years experience in career coaching (in industry or academic settings) and at least two years managing a team. Account management, recruiting or sales experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized and data-driven. Able to manage large volumes of requests and organize systems to keep track of students in various stages. Manage team data collection, analysis, and reporting. 
  • Able to give constructive, positive feedback to people of diverse professional and life backgrounds.
  • Self-Driven/Resourceful; able to pull educational resources from the community and tailor lesson plans/meetings based on student needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience working across teams/departments. Comfortable presenting both one-on-one and delivering to large groups of people.
  • High emotional intelligence; able to empathize with others and handle other people’s stress.
  • Experience and ability building trust and accountability with local and remote stakeholders.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about education, tech, and career coaching trends.

  • Managing Vision & Purpose: Communicates a compelling and inspired vision or sense of core purpose; talks beyond today; talks about possibilities; is optimistic; creates mileposts and symbols to rally support behind the vision; makes the vision shareable by everyone; can inspire and motivate entire units or organizations.
  • Directing Others: Is good at establishing clear directions; sets stretching objectives; distributes the workload appropriately; lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner; maintains a two-way dialogue with others on work and results; brings out the best in people; is a clear communicator. Can build trusting and productive relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Innovation Management: Is good at bringing the creative ideas of others to market; has good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work; has a sense about managing the creative process of others; can facilitate effective brainstorming; can project how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace.
  • Organizing: Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently arranges information and files in a useful manner.
  • Listening: Practices attentive and active listening; has the patience to hear people out; can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
  • Presentation Skills: Is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and bosses; is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cool data and hot and controversial topics; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working.
  • Managing Diversity: Manages all people equitably; deals effectively with all races, nationalities, cultures, disabilities, ages and genders; hires variety and diversity without regard to background; supports equal and fair treatment and opportunity for all. Continuously develops understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and takes action based on this understanding. 
  • Patience: Is tolerant with people and processes; listens and checks before acting; tries to understand the people and the data before making judgments and acting; waits for others to catch up before acting; sensitive to due process and proper pacing; follows established process.
  • Managing Relationship Building: Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders inside or outside the organization.
